Illinois third party candidates locked out of debate as political elites silence real competition

It’s the same old story in Illinois – the political elites rig the game, then pretend they’re the referees. When two third-party candidates, Collin Corbett and Whitfield Harrington, tried to crash the establishment’s little party, what happened? They got shut out, locked out, silenced. The only debate for governor and Senate on a big Chicago TV channel just happened to leave them off the stage. If this is democracy, then pigs fly and the Bears win Super Bowls every year.

Let’s be honest, the left doesn’t want competition. They talk big about fairness and “giving everyone a voice,” but when it comes down to it, they only want voices that parrot their anti-American, globalist agenda. Collin Corbett, once a GOP insider, and Whitfield Harrington, with his American Center Party, aren’t singing the Democrat tune. In Illinois, that means the doors close fast.

What are they so afraid of? Maybe it’s the truth. Maybe it’s somebody calling out the endless corruption in Springfield. Maybe it’s fear that real conservatives—or even independents fed up with both parties—will start asking questions about crime, taxes, and the bloated pensions bankrupting the state. The debate sponsors and their media allies can’t have any of that. Better to keep it all between their chosen puppets.

If Illinois truly cared about its voters, it would welcome these fresh voices into the ring. But the same leftist machine lines up the debates, picks the candidates, and writes the rules so only their team gets heard. It smells like collusion because that’s exactly what it is. You can bet your last tax-hiked dollar that backroom deals are being made to keep outsiders away from the mics.

Is anybody surprised anymore? This is what passes for “democracy” in blue states—media blackout for the independent thinkers, endless airtime for liberal career politicians. They can shut out Corbett and Harrington, but they can’t shut out the truth forever. How much longer will Illinois voters let the elites pick their choices for them?
