Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University grad who made his name shouting anti-Israel slogans on campus, is taking his fight all the way to the Supreme Court. He’s angry that the Trump administration actually did something about his pro-Palestinian protests—specifically, cracking down on foreign students who think America is nothing but a stage for their radical politics. Khalil claims he was thrown in jail just for speaking out, arguing that his detention was nothing more than payback for his stunts.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t about “free speech”—it’s about consequences. Why should American taxpayers roll out the red carpet for foreign agitators who use our universities as launching pads for hatred? The Trump administration had the backbone to push back, refusing to let college campuses become breeding grounds for anti-American and anti-Israel extremism. Instead of standing up for our laws, the left seems more interested in coddling radicals and bowing to globalist interests.
Of course, liberal elites at places like Columbia love nothing more than turning every protester into a hero, especially if they’re waving the right flag. Meanwhile, average Americans are supposed to look the other way while these so-called students trample on our values. It’s the same old double standard—freedom of speech for radicals, silence for conservatives. Where was all this legal fuss when conservative students faced real backlash on campus?
Now Khalil wants the Supreme Court to side with him. The left will use his case as their next rallying cry, pretending he’s the victim and ignoring the law. This is what happens when you let woke ideology run the show: the rules get rewritten for activists, and national security takes a back seat.
If we don’t stand up for our own country and hold everyone—citizen or not—accountable for their actions, who will? Maybe it’s time to stop pretending that every protest is some sacred right, especially when it puts American interests at risk. Since when did harboring anti-American agitators become our moral duty?
