The WNBA gets it wrong yet again. Instead of letting fans enjoy basketball and cheer for their favorite players, these supposed “role models” are once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The championship finals, meant to unite us in the love of the game, have become nothing but a childish, anti-American circus.
Let’s call this what it is: blatant disrespect for the nation that made them famous. When the national anthem plays, it’s time to stand up, put your hand over your heart, and honor the flag. But what do these so-called superstars do? They refuse, turning what should be a powerful, uplifting moment into an embarrassing sideshow. Are they there to play basketball, or push some tired, leftist protest to get attention?
This isn’t about “justice” or “making a statement.” It’s about self-obsession and a deliberate effort to tear down national unity. The WNBA loves to pretend it cares about the fans, but how does mocking America’s anthem bring people together? It only drives us apart and insults the millions of hardworking Americans who respect this country.
The league keeps pushing woke politics, and look where it’s gotten them. Instead of selling out arenas and inspiring kids, they’re losing viewers and credibility. The average American tunes in for basketball, not to get a lecture from overpaid athletes who forget who pays their salaries. Maybe if the WNBA spent more time focusing on the sport and less time on pointless boycotts, they’d finally earn some real respect.
The national anthem isn’t just a song. It’s a symbol that brings Americans of all backgrounds together. When athletes refuse to honor it, they expose just how out of touch they really are. The WNBA needs a reality check—and a lesson in gratitude. Is the message here that America isn’t good enough for them? Maybe it’s time for some grown-ups to step in, remind them what country they represent, and ask: If you can’t stand for the anthem, what do you truly stand for?
