Brad Lander, who wants to represent New York’s 10th Congressional District, thought it was a genius campaign move to jet-set over to someone else’s country and meddle in their business. Instead of supporting the security of a key US ally, Lander cozied up to radical activists and joined a staged olive harvest alongside Palestinian farmers. Why? Because, as always, Democrats believe virtue signaling on foreign soil matters more than defending American values at home.
What exactly was Lander hoping to achieve? Maybe he was trying to pad his progressive resume or score cheap points with the globalist crowd back in Brooklyn. Either way, it’s another embarrassing display of liberal politicians playing the activist tourist. It’s almost as if the left would rather take selfies in conflict zones than actually address real issues facing their own cities, like crime or border chaos. Lander ignored Israel’s security restrictions—but isn’t that typical of Democrats, who never met a law they actually respected?
Let’s not forget how quickly Democrat politicians throw Israel, America’s closest friend in the Middle East, under the bus to appeal to radical fringes. While Israelis face constant terror threats, Lander chose to side with activists who routinely undermine safety and stability. He didn’t travel halfway around the world to promote peace—he went to score political points on the backs of hardworking Israelis who have to deal with the consequences.
And this all comes just weeks before the midterms. Democrats are growing desperate, hoping stunts like this will distract voters from their relentless failures at home. Apparently, they think standing with activists abroad will magically solve skyrocketing inflation, waves of illegal immigration, or urban lawlessness. Maybe Lander hopes Americans will forget how little the left has done for them if they see him picking olives instead.
Americans are sick and tired of politicians who put foreign posturing above our own interests. It’s long past time to call out this left-wing hypocrisy—when will Democrats start standing up for America, instead of playing activist tourist in countries that take their own security seriously? Maybe the only thing more dangerous than a Democrat with a passport is one who thinks globalist photo-ops are what voters care about. When will they learn?
