New York Democrat Brad Lander, who’s running for Congress this year, just learned a hard truth. Turns out, mouthing off against Israel might get you more than applause from America-hating activists—it might get you detained by the Israel Defense Forces. Lander, who has spent years slamming one of America’s strongest allies, went strutting into the West Bank, only to find he’s not as welcome as he thinks he is.
Here’s a Democrat who makes a living bashing Israel, pretending he’s some kind of peace warrior. Yet when he decides to take his anti-Israel agenda abroad and pokes around a war zone, he acts all shocked when real soldiers treat him the way he deserves. This is the same guy who sides with radical voices blaming Israel for defending itself. But when he gets a taste of how tough things are on the ground, suddenly it’s a “human rights” issue.
Liberals like Lander love playing international hero, jet-setting into places where they don’t belong, then coming back to their elite cocktail parties and telling everyone how “dangerous” Israel is. But when things get real, and the IDF does its job protecting its people, suddenly the narrative flips. The left forgets about the daily terror attacks Israelis face, and instead whines about being “detained” during their little photo-op.
Why does Lander bother traveling to one of the world’s most dangerous powder kegs in the first place? Maybe because bashing Israel gets him points back home with the far-left mob. It’s transparent, it’s cynical, and it shows exactly where his loyalties lie—not with America, and definitely not with any real sense of justice or security.
The left keeps showing us who they are: globalist wannabes who will side with anyone but America or her friends. Maybe next time Lander should try supporting the only democracy in the Middle East instead of grandstanding for attention. Or better yet, maybe he should just stay home and let the grown-ups handle foreign policy.
