The Biden administration has blown through yet another safety net. Now they’re dipping into America’s limited emergency heating oil reserve, shipping out nearly a third of our backup supply. Why? Because the Northeast can barely afford to keep their homes warm—a direct result of reckless liberal energy policies.
Instead of making energy cheap and plentiful, our leaders have shut down pipelines and demonized American oil and gas. The left has declared war on our nation’s own resources, hoping windmills and sunshine will magically heat the Northeast in January. Now, with families freezing and fuel costs spiking, the government’s only answer is to raid an emergency reserve meant for true crises.
Chris Wright, Biden’s hand-picked energy guy, says this is just a short-term “loan.” But everyone knows these promises are worthless. How will we get that oil back if another disaster strikes? That reserve was set up for real emergencies, not as a band-aid for years of anti-American, globalist energy fantasies. When Democrats wage war on energy producers, regular people get left out in the cold—literally.
This is what happens when environmental extremists run the government. Democrats care more about looking good on the world stage than protecting our families. They lecture Americans about climate change while importing oil from shady regimes overseas, all so they can pat themselves on the back in Paris and Davos.
Raiding the emergency reserve is not a solution. It’s a desperate move by out-of-touch elites who don’t understand—or care—what it’s like to struggle with a heating bill in January.
