Los Angeles has always been a haven for woke politics, but this time the city seems ready to dive headfirst into the socialist abyss. You’d think the current mess would make people pump the brakes on radical ideas—sky-high crime, crumbling roads, tents on every corner. But now, with Mayor Karen Bass scrambling, the so-called “progressive” machine is doubling down. Nithya Raman, a hard-left darling who makes Bernie Sanders look like Reagan, is seeing a surge of support. It’s almost like voters are saying, “Hey, why not make things even worse?”
It’s wild to watch Democrats eat their own. Karen Bass, the queen of soft-on-crime, pro-open borders, tax-and-spend nonsense, is suddenly not leftist enough for LA. Her reward for years of pandering to every radical idea under the sun? Getting pushed to the sidelines by a new face who thinks communism just needs another shot. It’s like a political version of who can scream “defund the police” the loudest, while regular families can’t even walk their kids to school without stepping over a needle.
This is what happens when city leaders put globalist talking points above common sense. They bought into every utopian fantasy sold by the loudest voices on Twitter. Instead of cleaning up the streets or bringing in jobs, they obsessed about “equity” and ignored the fires burning in their own backyard. Now, with Raman’s so-called “revolutionary” momentum, LA could end up as a test lab for failed socialist experiments that destroy middle-class hope. The people who suffer will be the hardworking men and women the left loves to forget.
If this is the future of America’s big cities, conservatives everywhere better pay attention. Today it’s LA. Tomorrow, who knows? One thing’s clear: the more the left chases radical ideology, the more ordinary Americans pay the price—lost opportunity, lost safety, and lost freedom. City Hall shouldn’t look like a college Marxist club. But that’s exactly where it’s headed, and the rest of the country is supposed to clap along?
Maybe Democrats should spend less time shoving socialism down everyone’s throat and more time fixing the mess they’ve created. But that might be too much to ask from people who think America’s biggest problem is not enough woke slogans in city government. Is this what “progress” looks like—electing more radicals to watch great cities burn?
