Salt Lake City’s mayor is at it again, falling head over heels to praise Ramadan as if it’s the answer to every problem facing America. Instead of celebrating the values that built this country—like hard work, freedom, and faith in God—she acts like Utah’s very air has become fresher simply because Ramadan rolled around. Apparently, Salt Lake City was some kind of cold wasteland before the magic of Ramadan came to town.
This isn’t about religious tolerance—that’s never been in question. In Utah, faith is part of the fabric. But this mayor seems less interested in unity than in rewriting history. She acts like everything good and decent in the city started with her latest infatuation. Where’s the praise for America’s traditions? Where’s the shoutout to the families, pastors, and veterans who made Salt Lake City a place of strength and community? Those folks barely get a nod while the mayor fawns over every new woke cause that comes along.
This is what happens when city leaders care more about ticking progressive boxes than honoring the country they’re sworn to serve. The left keeps trying to convince us that America is only worth celebrating when it’s bending over backwards for every globalist trend. Celebrations from other faiths are put front and center while Christianity and patriotism get pushed further into the background. If regular Americans dared to treat Christmas or Easter with the same open enthusiasm, the woke crowd would be up in arms screaming about “separation of church and state.”
The hypocrisy is jaw-dropping. Liberals scream about diversity, but only when it means celebrating anything but traditional American culture. All the while, they paint our past as cold and empty, as if the hard-working families who built this city had nothing to be proud of until the elites in city hall told us what’s supposed to matter. It’s insulting, and Americans know it.
Maybe next time, city officials should remember who they actually work for. People want real leadership, not hollow speeches about the latest virtue signal. Salt Lake City didn’t need saving from itself—it just needs politicians who are proud to be American. Who knows, maybe that’s too much to ask in Joe Biden’s America.
