Gavin Newsom Blames Everyone But Himself as California’s Homeless Crisis Spirals Out of Control

Gavin Newsom is at it again, wagging his finger at anyone but himself for California’s explosion of homelessness. Instead of rolling up his sleeves and tackling the crisis head-on, Newsom trots out his favorite move: blaming local leaders. He struts in front of the cameras, acting tough, pretending he’s ready to play hardball, but at the end of the day, nothing changes. The tents still line the sidewalks. Drug addicts still roam the streets. But hey, at least Newsom gets another chance to lecture the little guys.

This dance has gone on long enough. Newsom keeps threatening to yank money away from counties he says “aren’t doing enough,” while pledging to rain cash on his political buddies who “get things done.” He wants to look like a man of action, but everyone knows it’s just smoke and mirrors. If throwing taxpayer dollars at homelessness was the answer, California would be spotless by now. Billions have disappeared into so-called solutions — and what do we have to show for it? More filth, more crime, more misery.

Here’s the real problem: Democrat policies created this mess. Sanctuary cities, unrestricted welfare, and a refusal to crack down on crime have turned California into a magnet for chaos. The left talks about compassion, but their “solutions” only encourage bad behavior. It’s a vicious cycle: throw money at homelessness, watch the crisis get worse, then blame someone else. Newsom and his liberal allies are experts at political theater, but they fail spectacularly at real leadership.

Americans are tired of excuses. While Newsom grandstands, working families are forced to step over needles and watch their neighborhoods decay. Kids can’t walk to school without passing by open-air drug markets. Is this the California dream, or a liberal nightmare? The rest of the country should take note — this is what you get when you put soft-on-crime, big-government activists in charge.

At some point, the buck has to stop. But don’t expect true accountability from the likes of Newsom. He’s too busy auditioning for a bigger national stage. Maybe he’ll blame the White House next. Or maybe he’ll finally take a long, hard look in the mirror and realize the real failure is staring right back at him.
