A Badge Turned Into a Weapon: When Power Corrupts, America Pays
Here we go again—another government official who thinks the rules don’t apply to him. Caleb Moritz, once a respected chief deputy in Ohio, used his badge not to protect people, but to prey on the vulnerable. He didn’t just cross the line; he crushed it, using fentanyl to control, exploit, and abuse people under the very system he was sworn to uphold.
This man ran the sheriff’s office like his own personal fiefdom. Instead of keeping deadly drugs like fentanyl off the streets, he used them as bargaining chips, handing them out to desperate victims for sexual favors. These weren’t hardened criminals—these were people tangled up in the justice system, trapped with nowhere to turn. And while ordinary Americans are threatened by waves of fentanyl pouring in across our open borders, Moritz treated it like a party favor. This is what happens when the left’s soft-on-crime, anti-police rhetoric pushes good officers out and leaves crooked bureaucrats running wild.
Let’s not forget: Moritz also stole taxpayer property, tampered with evidence, and tried to intimidate anyone who dared speak up. He thought he was untouchable, another elite convinced his political ties and status made him above the law. The fact that he planned to run for sheriff—as a so-called “Republican”—only adds insult to injury. Badges, guns, and authority are supposed to keep order, but under today’s broken system, they too often empower those who least deserve them.
This verdict is a rare flash of justice in a sea of government failure. But ask yourself: How many Moritzes are out there right now, hidden away by corrupt bureaucracies and lazy politicians more focused on knee-jerk woke policies than real law and order? Liberals love to say that “accountability” is their top priority. Where are they now? Silent as usual, hoping no one notices one of their beloved institutions breeding predators.
America can’t afford to tolerate this rot from the inside. Democrats and globalists shout about policing reforms, but their policies tie the hands of real officers and let bad apples run wild. Until we wake up and demand real accountability—from the top down—we’ll keep seeing badges turn into weapons. Is this the “progress” the left keeps promising?
