Tragic Easter egg hunt exposes deadly cost of ignored park safety and failed leadership

A peaceful Easter egg hunt turned into a nightmare this weekend, when a massive tree came crashing down, wiping out innocent lives in seconds—two adults and one infant, gone before anyone could react. The crowd—mostly new mothers, pregnant women, and little children—were simply looking for some joy and tradition. Instead, they found tragedy. Where’s the outrage? Where’s the accountability?

Here’s the truth: This is what happens when safety is ignored for the sake of red tape and feel-good activism. Local officials love to talk about “sustainability” and “green spaces,” but never about basic maintenance. They spend millions on woke nonsense, but when it comes to keeping parks and community spaces safe, they couldn’t care less. The so-called leaders in charge clearly have their priorities backwards. Trees can be beautiful, sure, but unattended and uninspected, they can also be deadly. No one on the left wants to hear that.

Shamefully, while these bureaucrats pat themselves on the back for “environmental stewardship,” they let dangerous old trees tower above family gatherings. If you dare suggest that the city might actually be to blame, you get branded as anti-nature—even when basic safety is at stake. They would rather virtue signal about climate change than put money towards trimming trees and actually protecting families.

Of course, when things go wrong, the left wants us to call it a freak accident—something no one could have foreseen or stopped. Enough with the excuses. Responsibility means preparing for the unexpected, especially when children and vulnerable people are involved. But government officials never want to hear about that. They’d rather push more useless regulations and blame the weather, than admit their own failures.

The left talks tough about “community,” but their incompetence puts real people at risk. How many families have to be destroyed before someone takes action? Is protecting innocent lives less important than checking the boxes on some green agenda? Americans deserve leaders who put people first—not more excuses from clueless bureaucrats.
