Democrats in Virginia are at it again, wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on a radical social experiment. Instead of fixing real problems, they’re pumping life back into the state’s so-called “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” office—a bloated bureaucracy that does nothing but push woke ideology. And this time, they’ve found a new boss to carry out their agenda, hoping nobody notices as they pour even more cash into programs proven to divide rather than unite.
With Dr. Sesha Moon now at the helm, the Virginia DEI office is back, louder and pricier than ever. Liberals in Richmond have made it clear that their top priority isn’t safer streets, better schools, or lower taxes. Nope—they’d rather focus on preaching about race, gender, and so-called “inclusion,” all while the bill gets dumped on hardworking families. Don’t expect results, unless you count more virtue signaling and the endless expansion of government power.
What’s especially outrageous is their latest push to shove these DEI schemes into every corner of life—from targeting youth with their agenda to meddling in criminal sentencing. Apparently, the left thinks indoctrinating kids with identity politics is more important than teaching them reading, writing, or history that actually matters. And in the courtroom? They want “equity” to trump justice, determining sentences less by actions and more by checking the right boxes. If this sounds like social engineering, you’re right.
This is classic liberal hypocrisy. They’ll march under banners of “fairness,” “tolerance,” and “progress,” but their idea of fairness means special treatment for chosen groups and more power for government elites. All the while, they ignore the real crises working families face—fentanyl on the streets, sky-high inflation, and broken schools. The left would rather distract with DEI dogma than admit their own failures.
While globalists cheer and bureaucrats get richer, everyday Virginians are left picking up the tab for this nonsense. Remember when the state government cared about excellence, merit, and personal responsibility? Now, those values are shoved aside for a feel-good program that undermines what makes America great. How many more millions must be wasted before someone says enough? The real question is, will anyone on the left ever be brave enough to admit that DEI is just a fancy cover for incompetence and control?
