Eric Swalwell scrambles to deny scandals no one asked about as governor race heats up

Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell is at it again. This time, he’s on damage control, swatting away accusations he never says actually happened. According to Swalwell, there’s supposedly not even a whisper of sexual harassment in his record—no allegations, no shady settlements, nothing at all to see here. That’s what he wants voters to believe as he tries to grab the governor’s mansion in California. The real question: why does this guy feel the need to spell out his innocence before anyone even asks?

Let’s not forget who we’re talking about. Eric Swalwell, a man best known for parroting leftist talking points and chasing conspiracy theories about supposed Russian collusion, suddenly wants us to take his word at face value. It’s amazing how quickly Democrats wrap themselves in moral superiority—right until inconvenient stories start circulating. Swalwell’s claims now sound more like a rehearsed script than the genuine transparency California desperately needs.

Swalwell and his pals in the Democrat Party love to hold their opponents’ feet to the fire over the smallest rumors. Republicans get smeared in the press for mere suggestions, while Democrats get away with “Trust me, nothing happened.” The double standard couldn’t be clearer. When the left faces questions, they offer a dog-and-pony show with excuses and denials. Their so-called accountability vanishes the moment the spotlight falls on one of their own.

Let’s not ignore the timing, either. Swalwell isn’t just any Democrat—he’s battling billionaire Tom Steyer for the top spot in California’s race for governor. Two coastal elites, both eager to lead the state into more failed policies and progressive chaos. Californians are already choking on high taxes, homelessness, and crime. Yet, the Democrat establishment thinks a never-ending series of denials will suffice to win public trust.

Here’s what voters in California and across the country should be asking: When will Democrats stop playing by their own rules? Swalwell’s brand of politics is exactly what’s wrong with our leaders today. He’s more concerned with saving face and keeping power than with serving the people. If he has to shout his innocence from the rooftops before anyone accuses him of a thing, maybe he’s protesting a little too much. Isn’t it time California demanded leaders with less drama and more results?
