Iran is playing its usual games with the world, and, like always, the Western left is falling for it. Now the Islamic regime has graciously decided to “grant passage” through the Strait of Hormuz—but only for two weeks. It’s laughable. For years, this critical waterway—vital for global oil and energy—has been used as a bargaining chip by Iran’s hardline rulers. And what do we get in return? A so-called “ceasefire.” For two weeks. This isn’t leadership. It’s a band aid on a gaping wound, slapped there by cowards who want easy headlines instead of real solutions.
The Biden administration and its globalist allies keep acting like every tiny concession from Iran is some great achievement. Two weeks of not openly threatening the world’s oil supply? That’s supposed to be a victory. But let’s face facts: Tehran is still holding the Strait hostage. The message from Iran is clear—they can shut down the world’s energy whenever they feel like it, and the West is just expected to say thank you and move along.
And yet, liberals and their mouthpieces in the corporate media rush to celebrate this as “diplomacy.” What they’re really celebrating is weakness. Washington and Brussels both refuse to call out Iran’s blackmail for what it is. They ignore how these “agreements” encourage the regime, not restrain it. This isn’t peace—it’s a pause, and one Iran will end as soon as it sees fit.
America has come to rely on toothless gestures and empty words, while Iranian hardliners scheme and plan their next move. The left treats tyrants like Iran as misunderstood negotiating partners. Meanwhile, American interests—and the world economy—hang in the balance. Is Western leadership really this naive, or do they simply not care about American energy security?
If two weeks of “peace” is the best our leaders can get out of Iran, it’s past time to question just whose side they’re on. Real strength means permanent freedom of navigation, not begging for permission from bullies. When will we wake up and stop letting radicals in Tehran—and their enablers in Washington—hold the world hostage?
