Biden bets on Tehran while Iran laughs at US weakness again

America is once again rolling the dice with Iran—because our leaders just can’t help themselves. Vice President JD Vance claims our team is walking into talks with the Iranian regime with “good faith.” But let’s be honest, does anyone believe the thugs in Tehran are interested in American goodwill? Liberals love throwing the word “diplomacy” around as though it means shaking hands with the devil will make him less evil.

Some voices in Iran’s government pretend to be peacemakers, but anyone paying attention knows these differences are all part of their act. The regime sends out smiles for the West while rounding up dissidents and chanting “Death to America” when the cameras are off. Yet, the left chases “moderates” in Tehran like they’re unicorns at the end of a nuclear rainbow.

How many times will Washington elites—on both sides—fall for the same tired game? Let’s not forget, anytime America talks “in good faith,” the other side smells weakness. Strength is the only language Tehran respects. Instead, the liberal establishment obsesses over appeasing so-called Iranian reformers and opening doors for globalist deals that never deliver security for Americans.

Vance talks about being “mindful” of spoilers in the Iranian hierarchy. But that careful language just signals more of the same failed appeasement strategies. The hardline, anti-Western power players run the show in Iran. Playing nice with dictators hasn’t worked before—and it certainly won’t now.

If the Biden administration’s best idea is more endless negotiating with enemies who hate our guts, maybe it’s time they admit they simply don’t put America first. Negotiating from weakness gets Americans nowhere. At what point do our leaders finally stop pretending and start defending our interests? Or are we just supposed to watch, yet again, as the American lion is led by sheep?
