Senator Cory Booker’s marathon speech last year wasn’t winning any gold medals, but apparently it was so over-the-top, even his wife feared for his health. She was reportedly worried he’d drop dead or end up injured on the Senate floor, all in the name of more of that grandstanding we’ve come to expect from the left. Only in the Democratic Party do virtue-signaling speeches take the place of real solutions for America’s problems.
Of course, liberals love to pretend these endless speeches are heroic. But what’s heroic about wasting time, hogging the spotlight, and showing just how desperate Democrats are for attention? The country faces real issues—inflation, open borders, rising crime—while their so-called leaders are busy pushing themselves toward a fainting spell for a few headlines.
Senator Booker’s wife actually feared for his safety because of his own political theater. Maybe that should tell us all just how far gone this circus has become. Liberals would rather risk their own wellbeing in a bid to look “courageous” on C-SPAN than actually serve the American people. Theatrics are just about all the left has left. No solutions, no progress, just longer speeches and more drama.
Let’s not forget who gets left behind while Democrats pat themselves on the back. Working families are crushed by taxes and inflation. Our border is a disaster zone. Veterans can’t get the care they need. But the ruling class in Washington is more focused on applause than results. It’s embarrassing—and it’s anti-American.
If the highlight of your Senate career is almost collapsing from your own hot air, maybe it’s time to admit what liberals actually offer America: plenty of talk, absolutely no action. When will real Americans say enough is enough and demand leaders who put the country ahead of their egos?
