Cuba’s so-called president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, is digging in his heels and refusing to give up power. Even as his country crumbles under communist control, he made it crystal clear in a recent interview with an American news network that he won’t step down—no matter how much the Cuban people are suffering. This is the face of socialism’s total failure, playing out just 90 miles from the shores of Florida.
While elites and leftists always promise that socialism means “power to the people,” Diaz-Canel proves it’s only power to the regime. Cuba’s a nation where grocery store shelves are empty, dissent lands you in jail, and everyday folks dream of escaping to the freedom and opportunity that liberal politicians keep trying to ruin right here at home. Yet even as Cubans protest in the streets, Diaz-Canel clings to his throne—reminding us exactly why we must never allow this kind of tyranny in America.
It’s telling how liberals love to look the other way when it comes to brutal socialist regimes. When Democratic socialists here talk up “free” healthcare and education, they conveniently forget what that looks like in the real world. They never mention the lines for bread, the blackouts, or the police state. Meanwhile, globalists and their media allies seem more interested in cozy interviews and photo ops than demanding real answers from dictators like Diaz-Canel.
The hypocrisy just keeps piling up. If a conservative leader ignored protests and refused to step down, the media would scream about human rights abuses and democracy. But when a socialist locks down power, they get treated like a misunderstood hero. There’s no outrage when Cubans are beaten for demanding freedom—only shrugs from woke pundits who keep selling us the same failed ideas.
It’s time Americans wake up. Leaders like Diaz-Canel aren’t misunderstood—they’re proof of what happens when you let government run wild and crush liberty. Do we really want socialist elites picking winners and losers here too, while they live like kings and everyone else gets crumbs? Cuba is a warning—a glimpse at the dark future the left hopes we never see coming.
