Once again, Americans have to learn the hard way just how worthless NATO really is. When the chips are down and there’s a real threat, our so-called “allies” vanish faster than a Biden press secretary asked a tough question. President Trump is absolutely right to be frustrated. While brave American troops are standing tall against Iran, NATO’s leaders are hiding behind empty promises and bureaucratic double-speak. The alliance that likes to pat itself on the back isn’t lifting a finger to help us where it matters.
Let’s face it—Europe’s elite love to lecture us about “shared values” and “collective defense,” but when America is on the front lines, they drop their slogans and look the other way. Maybe they think if they ignore the problem long enough, it’ll just go away. Or maybe they’re too busy rubbing elbows at Brussels cocktail parties to actually defend freedom. All the while, it’s American families who bear the cost, and American mothers who wait for their sons and daughters to come home.
There’s a hard truth here: NATO is nothing but a paper tiger. The moment real strength is needed, this club of globalists crumbles. Liberals here at home act shocked by President Trump’s anger, but they’ve never spent a second holding our so-called partners accountable. They’d rather bow down to European leaders and cry about “international cooperation” than demand real action.
And who pays the price? Regular Americans. Our tax dollars fund NATO. Our soldiers bleed when things get tough. All while too many in Washington are content to play nice for the cameras and let our allies free-ride. Where are the bold statements from European leaders condemning Iranian aggression? Nowhere—because they only show up for the easy fights and the easy applause.
Maybe it’s time to ask the obvious question: If NATO won’t stand with America when it really counts, what’s the point of the alliance at all?
