Chicago’s public schools are once again proving that the Left is more interested in pushing politics than helping kids learn. Instead of keeping students in class, the district wants to shut down schools on May Day—a radical holiday backed by socialists and anti-ICE activists. This isn’t about giving teachers a well-deserved break or helping students recover from a tough year. It’s about brainwashing a new generation with anti-American nonsense.
The so-called “leaders” in Chicago are at war with common sense. Even the school CEO is pushing back against the board and the teachers’ union for wanting to take another day off. She knows every day in class matters—especially when test scores are in the gutter and kids are falling far behind. But the teachers’ union, backed by their pals on the board, would rather stage political stunts than help kids read and do math.
Everyone knows the real problem in Chicago schools isn’t a lack of activism. It’s that too many kids can’t read, write, or complete basic math. But that doesn’t matter to the Left. They care more about turning classrooms into breeding grounds for socialist ideology than giving children the tools they need to succeed. The Mayor, the union, and the board are all more concerned with virtue signaling than actual education.
Why do liberals hate accountability so much? They hide behind buzzwords like “equity” while gutting academic standards. They eagerly rip away instructional days to protest law enforcement or push open border nonsense. Meanwhile, parents watch their children slip further and further behind because the adults in charge have their priorities upside-down.
America’s kids deserve better. They deserve to be in the classroom, not out in the streets waving signs for radical causes. If Chicago’s leadership won’t put students first, maybe it’s time voters find people who will. Or is the game plan just to turn the next generation into loyal foot soldiers for the leftist agenda? If the radicals win in our schools, the fight for the future might be lost before it even begins.
