America is supposed to be the land of opportunity for people needing real refuge—at least that’s what the Left keeps saying. But when it comes to letting in white, Christian families fleeing actual tyranny and violence in South Africa, suddenly Democrats and their media lapdogs turn sour. The truth is, they only want refugees who fit their twisted narrative, not hardworking families who want to assimilate, respect our laws, and actually thank America for its generosity.
For decades, liberals have screamed that we must welcome all comers, waving around Emma Lazarus’s Statue of Liberty poem like it’s a law written in stone. But when Trump focused on helping South African families—the very group suffering under outright government harassment and farm attacks—the Left completely changed its tune. All of a sudden, refugee status is controversial. Their double standard is nauseating. Refugees are apparently only welcome if they’re young, single men from Islamist countries with no intention of following American values.
This year, nearly every refugee admitted to the U.S. has been from South Africa, mostly Afrikaner families. The Biden administration, of course, used to throw open the doors to anyone from anywhere, importing tens of thousands from warzones regardless of their background, skills, or whether they would ever become Americans in spirit. But bring in people who respect our freedoms, love this country, and don’t live off handouts, and the Left starts foaming at the mouth. Their hatred for anything that might reinforce the traditional American way is exhausting.
Let’s not forget, these Afrikaner refugees faced real persecution back home, targeted not because of anything they did, but simply for who they are. The same South African government openly admits they want to punish these families, not for crimes, but for the supposed “sins” of their ancestors. Liberals eat that up. They preach about justice and “accountability,” but what they really want is vengeance and division, right here at home. If you’re white and conservative, or if you dare vote against their woke agenda, they want you silenced, excluded, and yes—punished.
Liberal elites trip over themselves to make excuses for refugees who despise our culture, refuse to assimilate, and bring violence or crime. But let a group of Christian families come here with dreams of blending in, working hard, and making this place even better? The Left loses its mind. Why? Because these are the kinds of immigrants who strengthen America instead of undermining it. That’s what progressives and their globalist friends fear most—a nation united by love of country, not divided by race and resentment.
Maybe it’s time we ask ourselves—since when did loving America become so controversial? Or is the real problem that these new refugees just don’t hate us enough for the radical Left’s taste?
