California’s Democrat machine is at it again. This time, it’s Rep. Eric Swalwell, a man with big dreams of becoming governor. But even the uber-liberal California Teachers Association—usually glued to every far-left politician in the state—was forced to slam the brakes and ditch their support. What happened? Allegations of sexual assault and misconduct surfaced, finally making him too toxic even for the most radical union bosses out west.
For years, Swalwell was the left’s golden boy. Fawning over his anti-Trump rants, ignoring his disastrous track record, and even brushing aside whispers about his questionable ties to foreign interests. But it looks like the woke crowd finally found one scandal they couldn’t ignore—at least not with an election on the line. If the allegations were about any Republican, the outrage would have dominated every major headline for weeks. Yet, when it’s a darling of the Democrat establishment, the reckoning comes only when their own image is at risk.
The California Teachers Association isn’t exactly a moral authority. They spent years pushing radical gender ideology, failing our kids on academic basics, and demanding more money while shutting down schools. But when someone like Swalwell gets exposed, suddenly they pretend to care about integrity. The hypocrisy here is thick enough to cut with a butter knife. These are the same people who backed him for higher office—until it became politically inconvenient.
What does this reveal about Democrat leadership in California? For them, scandals don’t matter unless they threaten the party’s hold on power. It’s always politics first, truth and character last. Normal, hardworking Californians are left wondering why their kids’ teachers’ union cares more about covering for corrupt politicians than actually improving education.
Swalwell’s fall from grace isn’t just about one man. It’s about a broken system where the left covers for its own until the mess gets too big to hide. If this is the quality of leadership Californians can expect, maybe it’s time to clean house—from the classrooms all the way up to the governor’s mansion. Who’s next?
