Democrats are always quick to clutch their pearls and cry out about their so-called moral superiority—until it’s one of their own caught in a scandal. The latest fiasco comes courtesy of California’s Eric Swalwell. Sex abuse allegations against the congressman have blown up, and now even the top Democrats are scrambling to put out the fire. But look closer and the hypocrisy is glaring: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wants Swalwell out of the California governor race, but strangely enough, he’s perfectly fine with Swalwell clinging to his seat in Congress.
Let’s get real. If this had been a Republican, Democrats would have been howling for resignation, cancellation, and exile. They demand accountability from conservatives at every turn, but when it’s their own sinking ship, suddenly it’s all about protecting the party. Swalwell isn’t just any Democrat—he’s been in the halls of Washington power for years. If he’s not fit for the governor’s office, how on Earth is he fit to represent Americans in Congress?
This episode isn’t a one-off. Time and again, Democrats apply one set of rules to themselves and another to everyone they see as a political threat. They want to run California, they want to run Congress, and they think the “rules” are just for the rest of us. They’ll toss Swalwell out of a governor’s race just to save face in California, but keep him in Congress where he can still vote for their radical globalist agenda. That’s not leadership—it’s cowardice and double standards.
Let’s not forget who these people are. This is the same party that laughs off security risks and brushes aside sex scandals among their ranks, so long as it doesn’t cost them an election. They have no respect for the American people, and they certainly don’t have respect for the standards they pretend to care about. What message does this send to victims? What signal does it send to citizens who are sick and tired of the swamp protecting its own?
The mask is off. Democrats only care about power. Swalwell can stay in Congress, vote on your future, shape your country, but Heaven forbid he runs for governor and becomes a liability on the campaign trail. If Democrats can’t clean up their own mess, maybe it’s time for voters to clean house for them. How long will Americans let these partisan games go on?
