Another day, another disaster in Democrat land. This time, it’s Eric Swalwell, the California congressman who never missed a chance to throw stones at his political adversaries. Now, the tables have turned on him. With serious sexual assault allegations surfacing from a former female staffer, even his own party is running for cover.
Big-name Democrats like Adam Schiff and Ruben Gallego are scrambling to distance themselves from Swalwell. It’s amazing how fast loyalty disappears when a fellow liberal gets caught in a scandal. Suddenly, all that talk about “believing women” and “protecting victims” is used as a selective weapon. When the accused is a Republican, Democrats lead the angry mob. When it’s one of their own? They tiptoe around the mess, hoping no one notices their hypocrisy.
Eric Swalwell spent years preaching about ethics and accountability, looking down his nose at conservatives. Yet here he is, abandoned by his so-called allies the minute things get uncomfortable. If Schiff and Gallego believed all that nonsense they spew about morality and responsibility, they’d have dropped Swalwell the second these shocking accusations were known—not waited until it looked bad for their careers.
The American people are watching. They remember how these Democrat elites ignore their own dirty laundry, whether it’s corruption, incompetence, or, in this case, awful behavior toward women. The Democrats love to lecture the rest of us on character while sweeping their own scandals under the rug—until the spotlight gets too hot.
Maybe next time, instead of parading around like self-righteous heroes, these Democrats should look in the mirror. Is anyone really surprised to witness yet another display of liberal double standards? Or is this just business as usual in the party of empty promises and broken trust?
