Once again, the United States Navy had to show the world what real strength looks like. This week, two American destroyers cruised right through the Strait of Hormuz—a move that used to make rogue regimes tremble. No, this wasn’t some soft, bowing mission overseen by Obama-era diplomats looking for another apology tour. This was real Navy power, on display, moving through dangerous waters without playing footsie with Iranian officials or begging permission from America’s enemies.
Let’s be clear about what just happened. While so-called “peace talks” were sputtering along in Pakistan, U.S. warships made their first transit through these waters since February 28, when things began to heat up. Did they check in with Iran? Did they wait for a greenlight from some corrupt ayatollah? Absolutely not. They sailed straight through, ignoring the gnashing teeth of tyrants and snubbing the globalist crowd that’s always looking to beg for “permission” before doing anything.
This is what leadership looks like, but don’t expect the left-wing press or Biden’s buddies in Europe to celebrate. They’re probably unhappy the Navy didn’t call up Tehran first, ask nicely, or host a global Zoom call so bureaucrats could weigh in. For years, liberals have taught us to tiptoe around dictators, but that cowardly strategy only puts Americans in danger and encourages bullies to push further. Real deterrence means bold action, not endless groveling.
Sadly, it’s the same story every time. The global elite would rather have our sailors stuck at port, tied up in red tape, and forced to beg for mercy. Why? Because they don’t really like American power. They prefer a world where the U.S. takes orders from panels, councils, or, even worse, regimes that hate us. They want us to be embarrassed by our own flag. But the destroyers rolling through Hormuz just reminded everyone that the stars and stripes still mean business.
Will the left admit they were wrong? Of course not. They’ll whine about “provocation” and pretend that our rivals respect us when we’re weak. But Americans know better. Without American muscle, the world becomes a far more dangerous place. The Navy just sent a message to our enemies and their liberal apologists: the U.S. doesn’t ask for permission to defend freedom. Maybe it’s time the rest of the world remembered that.
