Chaos is breaking out in Congress, and Democrats are running scared. First, Eric Swalwell—yes, the same Eric Swalwell caught up in a Chinese spy scandal—decided to throw in the towel. Now, GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales is calling it quits as well. Suddenly, the halls of Congress look more like a revolving door than a seat of American power.
Gonzales’ resignation should force conservatives to take a hard look in the mirror. When a representative from Texas—one of the last true strongholds of American values—walks away, it says a lot about the mess inside the Beltway. The political swamp is so deep and toxic even our own can’t hold their nose any longer. While Democrats keep celebrating so-called “progress,” what’s really happening is our country is losing good people to the games of Washington, DC.
Let’s not forget the likes of Swalwell, though. This guy got cozy with foreign intelligence and still strutted around as if nothing happened. His resignation isn’t a sacrifice—it’s the bare minimum any decent politician should do after embarrassing his country. But don’t count on the Democrats to clean house. They only see “accountability” when it hurts Republicans.
Every resignation from Congress is a reminder of just how far our leaders have fallen from the Founders’ vision. D.C. has become a playground for career politicians, globalists, and bureaucrats who only care about power—not the American people. Texas deserves better. America deserves better. It’s no wonder good conservatives are ready to run for the exits.
You have to ask: With this level of dysfunction, who’s actually fighting for us anymore? Or are both parties just racing to see who can sell out America the fastest? The swamp wins when true patriots step aside. Time to drain it or drown in it.
