ERs are turning into warzones as liberal policies put healthcare heroes in the line of fire

America’s healthcare workers are under attack, and it’s time we start saying the hard truths. Forget the empty slogans from the left about “safe spaces”—try working in an emergency room these days. The men and women who show up every day to help us when we’re at our lowest are now forced to protect themselves against violence right on the job. This isn’t some tragic fluke; it’s a growing epidemic. When a woman is sentenced for stabbing someone in a hospital ER, it shines a giant, blinding spotlight on how dangerous things have become for the people taking care of us.

Let’s ask why this is happening. For years, liberals have looked the other way while law and order breaks down in our cities. They talk endlessly about dismantling police and championing the rights of criminals. The result? It’s not just the streets that are unsafe; now the danger has moved into our hospitals. ER staff see things most folks can’t even imagine—they walk through fire to help others. But now they’re dodging violence, not just disease. And what do liberal policy-makers do? They craft more regulations, tie law enforcement’s hands, and pretend the “root cause” is something a government program can fix.

The left will tell you it’s all about mental health and lack of funding, but they’ve been in charge of the spending for years. Where has that led us? Good nurses and doctors are fleeing the field because no paycheck is worth a trip to the ER as a patient yourself. No wonder fewer Americans trust institutions that can’t even protect their own frontline workers. We’re constantly told about “systemic” problems, yet the cowardice is systemic—nobody in charge wants to admit their policies have failed.

It shouldn’t be controversial to say that healthcare workers deserve real safety. Instead, all we hear are weak apologies and empty promises from the left. The focus is always on the “rights” of the criminal, never the safety of the person saving your life. This upside-down thinking is classic liberal hypocrisy: coddle the violent, punish the hardworking. Wonder why America’s ERs look more like warzones every year? Just look at who’s running the policies.

Law and order shouldn’t end at the hospital door. If we don’t restore respect for the rule of law, how many more doctors and nurses are we willing to lose? The left wants you distracted by identity politics and their globalist pet projects, but if Americans can’t safely get help in an emergency, what kind of country are we becoming?
