When it comes to the anti-gun crowd, nothing should surprise anybody anymore. The same people who lecture Americans about “playing by the rules” can’t even keep their own political operations clean. Case in point: Giffords PAC, the gun control machine founded by Gabby Giffords and her husband, Senator Mark Kelly, is now under fire—finally—for what looks a lot like dodgy fundraising.
This isn’t Larry down the street running a local bake sale here. Giffords PAC is packed with lawyers, former politicians, and career activists. If anyone should know what campaign finance laws are, it’s them. Yet, they’re apparently doing whatever they want, raising campaign cash in ways that even Washington insiders are calling out. Groups like the National Shooting Sports Foundation have had enough, filing complaints with the FEC because Giffords PAC seems to think they’re above the law.
The trick this time? Soliciting donations for both themselves and their favorite gun-grabbing Democrats, but failing to follow the basic rules everyone else has to. Giffords PAC told donors to split money between the PAC and candidates, but they didn’t set up the required joint fundraising committees, or make the disclosures that even rookie campaign volunteers know are mandatory. Somehow, millions of dollars are swirling between anti-gun groups and liberal politicians without the public getting the full picture.
And they did all this right alongside the usual cast of characters: John Hickenlooper, Jon Ossoff, Adam Schiff, Amy Klobuchar—the biggest anti-gun names in the game. They want to strip Americans of their Second Amendment rights, but can’t be bothered to keep their own political money clean. If the NRA tried this kind of stunt, you can bet national news would go haywire and the DOJ would be breathing down their necks within days.
It’s funny how the left’s self-proclaimed “defenders of democracy” look the other way when their allies hide behind shady tactics—especially when it comes to squeezing out gun owners. Of course, the globalist elites running these PACs believe they’re exempt from consequences. Why sweat the rules when the media never holds you accountable?
Maybe the FEC will actually step up and show that the law applies to everyone, even the privileged darlings of the gun control movement. Or maybe, as usual, it’ll be swept under the rug—again proving how hollow their moral crusades really are. Isn’t it rich when the people screaming “money isn’t speech!” get tripped up by their own money games? Maybe next time, these gun control zealots should learn to follow the rules before they try to rewrite the Constitution for everyone else.
