New York loves to brag about its past triumphs—building the Erie Canal, conquering the wilderness, lighting the world with its skyscrapers. But today, all that toughness seems to have vanished. Instead, the people in charge act more like green-energy daydreamers than the hard-charging builders who once made New York great. Governor Kathy Hochul keeps pushing so-called green plans, promising futuristic wind turbines and solar fields. But here’s the truth: New York can’t even get off the starting line.
It’s embarrassing. The Empire State, once the beating heart of American innovation, now struggles to build even a small number of windmills and solar panels. Meanwhile, India—a country Democrats love to belittle—manages to churn out these projects at record pace. India isn’t just beating New York; it’s lapping them over and over. How is that possible? Because India doesn’t kneecap itself with endless red tape, union boondoggles, and woke regulation. They build fast, build cheap, and actually keep the lights on.
The liberal ruling class can talk about “progress” and “equity” until their faces turn blue. But when it’s time for results, they just burn taxpayers’ money and deliver empty promises. The same people who built the world’s most famous subway system can’t seem to screw a solar panel into a rooftop without 40 commissions and 10 lawsuits. Globalist lawmakers and green-energy grifters make wild, expensive promises—while the people who pay for it all get stuck with unreliable power and higher bills.
It’s pure hypocrisy. Liberals tell hard-working Americans we have to bend over backwards and accept blackouts “for the environment.” Yet when push comes to shove, they don’t deliver any of the big green goals. Instead, they bend the knee to special interests, construction unions, and international corporations who profit on every delay, mistake, and failed project. Is this really “progress,” or is it just more of the same swamp politics?
It’s time for New Yorkers—and Americans everywhere—to demand results, not slogans. If they want “green energy,” maybe they should start acting like they actually want it, instead of spending all day spinning their wheels in bureaucratic mud. Maybe, just maybe, America’s so-called “leaders” should look overseas for a reality check. How did this once-great state end up trailing behind India, a country the left never tires of mocking? The answer is staring us in the face—and it’s wearing a Democrat lapel pin.
