What a shock—Democrat leaders are playing the clueless card again. Nancy Pelosi, the queen of double standards, is now claiming she had absolutely no idea about allegations mounting against fellow California liberal Eric Swalwell. Apparently, top Democrats want us to believe they go from micromanaging the country’s business to suddenly going deaf and blind when one of their own gets caught in scandal. It’s the sort of political amnesia that only crops up when a Democrat’s reputation is on the chopping block.
Pelosi’s dodging is more than a little convenient. If this were a Republican under fire, Democrats would be lighting their hair on fire on every Sunday talk show, demanding investigations and resignations. But when Swalwell is facing tough questions, suddenly the party leadership can’t remember a thing. That’s not leadership—it’s cowardice, pure and simple.
It’s not just about turning a blind eye. This is the same Pelosi who lectures Americans about “accountability” and “transparency” every chance she gets. Yet, when a fellow leftist is accused of questionable behavior, those vows vanish into thin air. Do Americans really believe this is all just a coincidence? Or is it just more proof that the ruling liberal elite looks out for each other and not for the American people?
Democrats talk big about “defending democracy,” but when it comes to cleaning up their own house, it’s always excuses and shrugs. They’ll point fingers at conservatives for every tiny misstep. But when Eric Swalwell’s name pops up linked to controversy, suddenly Democrats have collective amnesia. With all their talk about “saving the soul of the nation,” you’d think they’d care a little more about basic trust and responsibility.
Maybe the real reason Pelosi and her pals play dumb is that they’re hoping Americans aren’t paying attention. But the American people are smarter than that. They’re tired of a political class that holds one set of rules for allies and another for everyone else. The Democrats can deny all they want, but the facts—and their hypocrisy—are plain as day. If they can’t even keep track of what’s happening in their own backyard, why on earth should we trust them to run the country?
