There goes the Vatican again, waving a white flag while America does the heavy lifting. Pope Leo XIV is at it, choosing to condemn war from his golden throne rather than standing up for the safety of real people who face threats from radical regimes like Iran. Americans are supposed to hang their heads in shame whenever we defend ourselves—at least that’s the message coming from the latest papal tweets. Apparently, defending freedom is out of fashion with global elites.
Only in today’s topsy-turvy world would so-called moral leaders focus their outrage on President Trump instead of on Iran’s thuggish rulers who prop up terror and hate across the Middle East. The Pope has millions of adoring followers, but not a single bolt of common sense when it comes to dealing with tyrants. When American troops put their lives on the line to stop future attacks, the Vatican reaches for the Bible and pretends evil will go away if we all just hold hands.
Let’s be honest: Liberals and their allies in Rome can clutch their pearls all day long, but the truth doesn’t care about their feelings. Iran is an aggressive enemy of the West, and history proves that pretending otherwise just gets people killed. Yet the Pope feels more comfortable scolding America’s commander-in-chief than calling out the real villains. That’s the kind of “virtue” globalists love—safe, easy, and wholly disconnected from reality.
While faith is supposed to inspire strength and courage, lately it’s become a tool for finger-wagging at Western democracies standing up for themselves. President Trump was elected because Americans are sick of getting trampled by foreign threats and weak leaders who parrot anti-American talking points. The United States cannot afford to be lectured by those who sit behind walls and preach to working families about war and peace.
Maybe next time the Pope can tweet about Iran’s missile launches or the innocent people they threaten, rather than throwing shade at America’s efforts to defend itself. Or is it just easier to score social media points by blaming Trump’s America for the world’s problems? Here’s an idea: let’s see what all those anti-war cheerleaders would do if the danger was at their own doorstep.
