Another day, another ridiculous dream of “peace in our time.” This week, word came that President Trump wants to strike some so-called “grand bargain” with Iran—offering them economic goodies if they promise to behave and swear off nukes. The negotiations supposedly went down in Pakistan, of all places, with Vice President Vance floating this grand fantasy. Let’s call it what it is: naïve globalist thinking.
Republicans everywhere know the truth. The Iranian regime hates America. For decades, Tehran has terrorized our allies, threatened Israel, and shouted “Death to America” in the streets. Now we’re supposed to believe they’ll turn over a new leaf just because Trump dangles money and recognition in their faces? Only Washington elites—or maybe the clowns in the Democratic Party—could fall for such nonsense.
Liberals have always fallen for this routine. Remember Obama’s Iran giveaway? Billions in cash for nothing but empty promises and more terrorists running wild. The left never learns. They act like rogue regimes—whether Iran, China, or North Korea—will suddenly find their conscience if you offer them jobs and trade deals. It’s fantasyland, and Americans know it. Appeasement doesn’t work, and nobody respects a pushover.
Sure, Trump talks tough, but these kinds of deals smack of weakness. Iran’s ayatollahs laugh at useless pledges and agreements. They know exactly how to string along U.S. negotiators, squeeze out every last concession, then go right back to building bombs behind the curtain. If liberals want to give Iran a green light, they should run for office in Tehran.
America’s enemies demand strength, not handouts. Call it “normalization” if you want—but selling out American security to placate radical thugs isn’t leadership. It’s surrender. Do patriots really want to see another failed deal written in the blood of our soldiers and our allies? When will our so-called leaders learn: peace comes from strength, not from throwing Iran a lifeline?
