Two members of Congress just quit. Not next week, not next year—hours apart. Why? Because they couldn’t follow the simplest rule in the book: don’t cheat on your spouse.
This kind of disgrace is exactly what’s wrong with Washington. Our “leaders” love to lecture us about values—until they get caught doing exactly the opposite. They make laws for everyone else, but can’t even stay loyal at home. It’s pathetic. Maybe if they spent less time chasing affairs and more time dealing with real problems, America wouldn’t be such a mess.
Let’s not pretend this is some strange and shocking event. It happens again and again—and it always exposes the same thing. Our so-called representatives think they can do whatever they want. The media will rush to play it down, because admitting this problem goes deep doesn’t fit their narrative. Heaven forbid anyone in D.C. be held accountable for their “private choices.” But if it’s a conservative with a family, you better believe it’s headline news.
Adultery doesn’t just ruin a marriage. It destroys trust. If these men can’t keep their promises to their own wives, why should anyone trust them with the future of America? Forget about party labels for a second. This is about character. Something the left wants you to believe is outdated or irrelevant—as long as their own side benefits.
In a country built on clear, simple morals, is it really too much to ask our leaders to keep their vows? If you can’t be faithful at home, you can’t be trusted anywhere. Maybe next time, before these politicians campaign on “integrity” and “values,” they should try living them—even when no one is watching.
