Blue states love to pretend they care about “the people,” but the only thing Democrat-run cities like New York really care about is your money. Hardworking Americans bust their backs to make it to the top, only to get crushed by greedy politicians once they get there. And now, it’s not enough for these liberal leaders to squeeze the rich while they’re living and working in the state — they want their money even AFTER they leave. That’s right. If you build a business, pay your taxes, and decide it’s time to move somewhere your success is respected, progressives in power are coming after your wallet anyway.
Democrat governors and mayors whine day and night about “the wealthy not paying their fair share.” But here’s the truth: folks aren’t stupid. When you raise taxes, punish success, and treat the city like a never-ending socialist piggy bank, people run for the hills. Those with ambition, those who provide the jobs and opportunities for everyone else, escape to places that respect hard work. But watch out — because now these liberal bigwigs want to track the rich down, no matter the state, drain them dry, and cough up cash for “programs” that do nothing but grow government waste.
It’s pure hypocrisy. These are the same Democrats who talk about “compassion” and “freedom” — yet they’re desperate to chain anyone with a dollar to New York, California, and Illinois until their pockets are empty. Blue state leaders seem to believe that wealth earned in the free market somehow belongs to the bureaucrats. It’s another classic move by liberals who think Big Government is always the answer, no matter how many jobs, families, or fortunes they destroy along the way.
While woke politicians line up new taxes and plan schemes to hunt down the successful, what do regular people get? More crime, higher costs, fewer jobs, and a city that feels less and less like America every year. The truly rich get creative — they leave, take their businesses, and invest in states where common sense still rules. Meanwhile, working families pick up the tab for the reckless spending and anti-American regulations piled higher and higher by clueless Democrats.
If Democrat leaders want to know why people are fleeing, maybe they should stop chasing bogeymen and start looking in the mirror. Taxing success out of existence isn’t progressive — it’s destructive. If New York and its liberal pals keep this up, soon there won’t be anyone left to tax but each other. Is that the “utopia” these progressives are bragging about?
