Once again, spineless Republicans have shown their true colors—this time stabbing President Trump and American voters in the back. Six so-called “conservatives” crossed the aisle, joining hands with the radical Left, just to help 330,000 Haitians who were supposed to be in America temporarily, get permanent cushy status. These are people who came here after a 2010 earthquake devastated Haiti. Their “Temporary Protected Status” was supposed to be just that—temporary. Instead, thanks to D.C. cowards, “temporary” now means “forever.”
Why is it so hard for our leaders to understand what “temporary” means? Americans can’t leave their mortgages unpaid for fourteen years and call it “temporary.” Try telling your landlord that! But when it comes to foreigners who break the rules, suddenly Congress is full of soft hearts and empty heads. The Democrats want new voters. The “Vichy Republicans” want pat-on-the-back columns in the New York Times. Meanwhile, working Americans get stuck with the bill, the crime, and the chaos.
This is exactly why nothing ever changes in Washington. Even when Trump tried to bring some common sense to immigration, his own party couldn’t keep it together. Any effort to put American citizens first is met with cries of “racism” and “cruelty.” Liberals cling to those tired labels because they’ve got nothing else. Their answer to every problem? Open the doors, shovel out cash, and leave Main Street Americans wondering if anyone in Congress works for THEM.
Let’s be clear: no other country would let “guests” stay this long without cracking down. If Americans tried this in another country, they’d be laughed out, jailed, or worse. But Washington politicians—both blue and red—bow to globalist feelings and fear the media mob more than they care about the American people.
So six Republicans bailed on their own party, helping the Democrats win. Big surprise—the DC cocktail circuit is alive and well. The only people losing out are those who actually pay taxes and play by the rules. Maybe next time the so-called “leaders” in Congress should try putting Americans first. Or is that just too much to ask?
