NYC schools are collapsing as equity grading creates chaos and parents demand action

For years, Democrat-led classrooms in New York City have crumbled under dangerous “equity” schemes. Radical bureaucrats decided that feelings mattered more than hard work. They handed out good grades for just showing up—sometimes, not even that. The results? Students who barely set foot in class are magically “passing.” Excellence is sacrificed at the altar of soft expectations. Accountability disappeared thanks to liberal fantasies about “fairness.”

Now, there’s a new guy in charge—Kamar Samuels, the schools chancellor—and he says he’ll bring back “rigor.” Good. Because public schools can’t survive if we don’t fix the chaos that equity-mad leftists created. Kids aren’t learning, teachers are demoralized, and parents are furious. No one wins when standards vanish and nobody cares if you come to school or not.

Let’s be clear: “equitable grading” isn’t about opportunity. It’s about dumbing down standards until everyone is equal—but equally unprepared for the real world. The people behind this disaster pretend that tough grading is “racist” or “oppressive.” What’s actually oppressive is lying to children, robbing them of their future. When you reward laziness and punish achievement, are you really doing anyone any favors? Or are you setting up another generation for failure?

Leftist politicians love to talk about “equity,” but their version means making America mediocre. Instead of lifting children up, they drag everyone down to the lowest common denominator. That’s the globalist dream, isn’t it? Weak, obedient citizens who can’t think critically because they’ve been taught that effort is pointless and results don’t matter. If you want to destroy a nation, just start by destroying its schools with progressive nonsense.

Will parents wake up before it’s too late, or will they let these reckless ideologues keep wrecking our classrooms? The future of our country is at stake. If rigged “equity” grading continues, American greatness will be nothing but a fading memory.
