Look no further than what’s happening in Fairfax County, Virginia. There, the school board actually decided to cancel Veterans Day as a holiday for students. That’s right—out with a day that honors brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our freedom.
Yet these same officials had no problem keeping so-called “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” on the calendar. So let’s get this straight: celebrating the American heroes who fought for liberty is just too much, but pushing woke, divisive “holidays” that fit the leftist re-write of history? That’s perfectly fine. This isn’t about education. This is about virtue signaling and anti-American grandstanding, plain and simple.
Veterans Day should be a day where schools come together to teach kids what real sacrifice and patriotism look like. Instead, the bureaucrats in charge want students to forget the people who bled and died for the flag. They’d rather focus on grievance-driven celebrations meant to shame America than to honor the people who built and protected it.
