It’s getting harder each year to find a music festival that sticks to, well, music. At Coachella this weekend, The Strokes gave fans a grand finale alright—not with soaring guitars, but with a flashy video montage that openly peddled propaganda straight from Iran and Hamas. That’s right. On one of America’s biggest entertainment stages, a supposed rock band decided to push the hate-filled, anti-Israel, anti-America message of radical regimes.
Where does it end? Hollywood celebrities and their music industry pals pretend to champion “peace” and “unity,” but then shamelessly amplify the talking points of international terrorists and dictators. It’s almost as if the liberal elite can’t tell the difference between art and aiding America’s enemies. Or maybe, worse, they simply don’t care. This nonsense isn’t about “raising awareness.” It’s about spewing leftist, globalist vitriol and tearing down the very ideals this country stands for.
While Americans work hard to protect their families and defend freedom, our cultural “icons” are siding with those who chant death to Israel and America. The Strokes, like far too many privileged celebrities, apparently see more in common with Iranian mullahs than with the blue-collar patriots buying their music. It’s a slap in the face to every soldier, every family, and every citizen who actually understands the real cost of freedom.
The so-called open-minded crowd at Coachella didn’t boo the band offstage. Instead, they cheer for anything edgy, even when it’s nothing more than rehearsed anti-Western theater. Where are those loud-mouthed progressives now, always ready to accuse conservatives of “hate speech”? Evidently, hate is just fine—so long as it’s pointed at America or its allies.
We’re told repeatedly that musicians are just “expressing themselves” and that we shouldn’t take it so seriously. But when artists openly back America’s sworn enemies in front of thousands of cheering fans, it isn’t just a matter of bad taste—it’s a symptom of a culture that’s lost its moral compass. Is this what passes for rebellion now? Selling out your country for applause? Maybe next year, Coachella will invite the Iranian regime to headline.
