Once again, hypocrisy runs wild on Capitol Hill. Reports are now swirling that House Democrats are preparing to throw one of their own under the bus. When things were going well, this congresswoman was their golden child. Now that she’s facing federal indictment over a jaw-dropping $5 million in COVID relief cash—allegedly funneled straight into her own campaign—they’re scrambling to save themselves and leave her out to dry.
It’s the same old story. The left never misses a chance to posture about “ethics” and “accountability”—but only when it’s convenient for their political brand. Suddenly, their tune changes when a Democrat faces real corruption. Instead of rallying behind “due process,” their leaders are sharpening the knives and plotting her expulsion. If these accusations were against a Republican, they’d be howling for blood from day one, running endless news cycles about greed and criminality. But since it’s one of their own, Democrats are tripping over themselves to distance from the mess.
Let’s not forget where all this money came from. COVID relief packages were meant to help Americans get through tough times—not to line the pockets and campaign coffers of corrupt politicians. This is what happens when trillions of taxpayer dollars get handed out with barely any oversight: the swamp creatures get rich while hardworking Americans foot the bill.
Democrats love to paint themselves as champions of working families and defenders of “the little guy.” Yet when their own party is busted for swiping pandemic funds, their real priorities become crystal clear. Power, self-preservation, and political games come first—far ahead of the people they claim to represent.
Expelling her now will not erase the bigger scandal. For all their grand speeches about transparency and values, Democrats have spent years covering for each other and sweeping corruption under the rug. Sick of the double standards yet? Because Americans deserve leaders who actually practice what they preach, not just when it’s politically safe. Maybe it’s time to clean house—for real this time.
