The Cato Institute is at it again, twisting the facts to fit their open-borders agenda. This time, they claim the average immigrant pays more in taxes than most Americans. But the truth hides behind their fancy smoke and mirrors.
How can anyone compare hardworking American families to groups like children, the disabled, retirees, and students, who obviously don’t earn a full paycheck or shoulder the same tax burden? These groups built America, paid their dues, and deserve every bit of support they get. Now, globalist think tanks want us to believe that importing more cheap labor is somehow good for our wallets.
People pushing mass migration love to cherry-pick numbers, acting like migrants are some kind of miracle for the IRS. They ignore all the costs—schools, healthcare, social services—that taxpayers end up covering. Liberals never mention how illegal immigration hits American workers hardest, driving down wages and wrecking opportunities for folks who grew up here. That’s the ugly truth elites don’t want you to see.
Let’s not kid ourselves. The people pushing these reports don’t care about average Americans struggling to pay bills. They care about cheap labor for their corporate buddies and new voters for their pet causes. The Cato Institute throws out these questionable statistics, and the left claps along, pretending they care about fairness while regular families get left behind.
Does anyone really believe America benefits from this kind of apples-to-oranges math? Maybe the elites in D.C. do—but the real citizens out in Middle America aren’t fooled. At some point, politicians need to stop listening to think tanks and start listening to real Americans who’re tired of being sold out.
