Another liberal politician has run for the hills. Once again, the Democratic Party tries to sweep its mess under the rug, but everyone can see what’s really going on. On Tuesday, Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, a Democrat from Florida’s 20th District, suddenly resigned her seat — and let’s not kid ourselves about why. She bowed out with her tail between her legs, dodging a public expulsion vote over serious ethics violations. It’s the oldest trick in the book for Democrats: when the heat is on, they cut and run, hoping Americans will just forget.
This is what you get from the party that loves to shout about “accountability” and “integrity.” They march around like they’re the moral police, lecturing hardworking Americans about right and wrong — but when it’s one of their own in trouble, suddenly the rules don’t matter. Cherfilus-McCormick didn’t just resign out of the blue. She jumped ship because her own colleagues were closing in on her corruption. If this is what’s happening where we can see it, imagine the rot we haven’t uncovered yet!
It’s no wonder voters are losing faith in Democrat leadership. Time and again, they prove the rules just don’t apply to them. And whenever one of their own gets caught, they scramble to cover it up without even addressing the misconduct. Globalist cronies and woke elitists act untouchable, handing out punishment only to the people who dare to challenge their agenda. Meanwhile, Americans are left wondering who’s actually running the show.
While Democrats obsess over every move Republicans make, screaming about “democracy” and “the rule of law,” their hypocrisy couldn’t be clearer. Cherfilus-McCormick had the chance to stand up and answer for her actions. Instead, she took the easy way out, abandoning her district and leaving her voters in the lurch. Remember, these are the same liberals who demand your trust when it comes to your money, your schools, and your rights.
The left’s house of cards keeps tumbling down. Maybe next time they’ll finally take some real responsibility — but don’t hold your breath. Conservatives know the truth: Democrats only talk about ethics and transparency when it benefits them. The rest of the time, it’s business as usual. Who’s the next liberal to run from their own mess — and will anyone on the left even care?
