Why Californians Feel Broke Despite Huge Paychecks and Newsom’s Rich State Hype

Gavin Newsom struts from city to city, bragging about California’s so-called “wealth.” He flashes big numbers, hoping nobody looks behind the curtain. What he refuses to mention? Californians might earn higher paychecks, but they’re running out of ways to keep up with the sky-high costs that his disastrous policies created.

Californians are supposed to be rolling in money, right? Wrong. The truth is ugly. While wages in the Golden State look shiny on paper, the average Californian actually has less money to spend than most Americans. After taxes, rent, and insane prices for the basics, families are left with scraps. Why? Because Sacramento’s greedy leftist lawmakers can’t stop dreaming up new ways to punish working people with bloated spending and endless regulations.

Look around any California city. There’s wealth, but it’s locked away behind guarded gates and Hollywood mansions. Outside, ordinary folks drown in bills, taxes, and sky-high grocery prices. Newsom wants everyone to believe his liberal utopia is working, but the numbers tell the truth. The average Californian loses a third of what they earn just keeping a roof over their head. Meanwhile, illegal immigrants and hand-picked globalist pet projects get showered with cash.

It’s no accident. Liberal leaders like Newsom have driven up costs with never-ending rules, anti-business schemes, and “climate” agendas that reward special interests. Who gets hurt? Not Hollywood elites or Big Tech billionaires. It’s the families packing up their lives into U-Hauls, fleeing to places where the American Dream still means something. No wonder people are running for the exits, and blue states like California keep losing population year after year.

So next time you see Gavin Newsom on TV, pounding his chest and selling the fantasy of “rich” California, remember who’s really picking up the tab. His high-tax, high-cost paradise is a nightmare for regular folks who just want a fair shot. Why should we trust a governor who cares more about his image than about the people he’s supposed to serve?
