Mall shooting horror in Baton Rouge proves soft on crime policies are killing innocent Americans

Another normal day in Baton Rouge turned into chaos and terror, all because our leaders refuse to get serious about crime. Six people ended up in the hospital—two of them fighting for their lives—after gunfire erupted in the middle of the Mall of Louisiana food court. Not the kind of lunch those families had in mind. But as usual, instead of taking responsibility, the left will just blame the guns and keep on pushing their broken policies.

The liberal response is as predictable as it is pathetic. For years, Democrats have been more interested in coddling criminals, slashing police budgets, and criticizing anyone who stands for law and order. Meanwhile, they let violent thugs run wild in American cities. Anyone with common sense knows it’s not gun owners or the Second Amendment that makes places like Baton Rouge unsafe—it’s the failure to deal with criminals head on.

We keep hearing that we need more “gun control” in this country. But last time anyone checked, it’s not law-abiding citizens causing these tragedies. The real problem comes from soft-on-crime politicians who refuse to lock up repeat offenders. They’d rather cry about “equity” and “social justice” than protect innocent people trying to buy lunch at the food court. It’s no wonder these shootings happen more and more.

The radicals want to shout about America’s alleged “gun problem,” but they won’t dare talk about the real issues: fatherless homes, gangs, and a culture that rewards bad behavior. Baton Rouge is just another sad example of what happens when the left’s policies take over—honest people pay the price, criminals get a slap on the wrist, and nothing ever seems to change.

How many more families have to fear going out in public before our so-called leaders realize their so-called solutions are making things worse? Until we stand up and demand real accountability—until we return to punishing criminals instead of gun owners—these bloodbaths are going to keep happening. The only thing “progressive” about these policies is the body count.
