NYC Mayor Sides With Lawbreakers as Councilman Arrested in Chaos

The radical left in New York City is at it again—this time, the mayor is more interested in defending lawbreakers than backing the police who keep the city safe. After an eviction protest in the city spiraled out of control, police had to step in. The result? An NYC councilman was arrested. Instead of supporting the men and women in blue who maintain order in the chaos of progressive policies, Mayor Zohran Mamdani sprang to the defense of the arrested councilman and slammed the police.

This is what happens when you put activists in office instead of leaders. The city is already bursting at the seams, with crime, homelessness, and lawlessness up thanks to soft-on-crime policies dreamed up by left-wing ideologues. Now, these same so-called leaders attack officers for doing the job taxpayers expect them to do.

The mayor’s reaction is pure political theater—yet another case of leftists twisting the facts to fit their narrative. It’s not enough that New Yorkers have watched their city spiral downward; now, city hall has the nerve to undermine the very people risking their lives to hold the line. Let’s not forget, the so-called peaceful protests all too often turn violent and destructive, but the blame always lands squarely on the police. It’s hypocrisy, plain and simple.

One wonders whose side city officials are actually on. Is it everyday Americans, trying to live and work in peace? Or is it the professional activists, career agitators, and their pals on the council who never miss a chance to cause disruption? Globalist interests seem quick to defend chaos and undermine American values at every turn.

If this is their vision for New York—lawlessness, disorder, and a total lack of respect for the law—then it’s no surprise the city is failing under their watch. At this rate, will there be any law enforcement left to protect New Yorkers when these radicals are done tearing everything down?
