This guy, who already waved the white flag and is skipping re-election, tried to derail Trump’s pick for Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh, all because of a renovation scandal ginned up by D.C. bureaucrats.
The irony? Republicans should be rallying around Trump’s choice, especially as Jerome Powell, who spent his time at the Fed cozying up to global bankers and bluffing about accountability, thankfully exits stage left. Democrats love to ram through their radical picks without a second thought, but when it’s Trump actually trying to clean house, suddenly the “rules” matter again. Meanwhile, career politicians like Tillis fall right into the trap, doing the left’s dirty work for them.
For weeks, Tillis threatened to block Warsh’s nomination while Biden’s Department of Justice played politics, pretending to “investigate” the Fed’s renovation boondoggle. Billions burned with nothing to show for it—sounds like classic D.C. Now, finally, the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s office, led by Jeanine Pirro, decided it’s had enough grandstanding and kicked the investigation over to the inspector general, Michael Horowitz. No surprise—Horowitz has a history of ruffling feathers on both sides but actually has the guts to call ‘em like he sees ‘em.
Let’s be honest: This wasn’t about building costs. This was about stalling Trump’s agenda and protecting the globalist club at the central bank. Whenever Trump moves to shake up the system or kick out the old guard, the establishment—yes, even Republicans—suddenly find excuses to stand in the way. Maybe they’re scared that a Trump-backed Fed chair might actually look out for Main Street instead of Wall Street for once.
Now that the sham probe is closed and the ball is in the inspector general’s court, Tillis loses his cover. No more hiding behind “investigations.” The real question: Will Republicans finally unite behind Trump and put American interests first, or will they keep bending the knee to the D.C. swamp?
