Brooklyn councilman cuffed while AG Tish James flip-flops on deed theft and real justice

Deed theft, or not deed theft? Apparently, that all depends on which side of the aisle you’re on and how many headlines your local political hack wants to grab. This week in Brooklyn, chaos broke out when radical City Councilman Chi Ossé—never one to miss a photo op—decided to play superhero and interfere with an eviction he claimed was all about “deed theft.” The only thing he got for his wild theatrics was a ride in handcuffs.

But here’s the real kicker: New York’s top law enforcer, Attorney General Tish James, can’t seem to make up her mind on what counts as actual property theft. If you ask the average hardworking New Yorker, stealing someone’s home should be obvious. But with Democrat leadership, it’s all a gray area, filtered through endless excuses and progressive buzzwords.

Let’s be clear—leftist politicians like Ossé are more interested in scoring social justice points than keeping law and order. They stage these public stunts and then scream “injustice” when the rule of law actually comes knocking. Meanwhile, the real victims—the folks who paid their dues, paid their taxes, and tried to keep a roof over their heads—get left out in the cold while city elites bicker about “definitions.”

The hypocrisy runs deep. For years, Democrats screamed about protecting homeowners. But when it’s time to take real action, suddenly things get fuzzy. Tish James has plenty of energy for witch hunts against political enemies, but where is the outrage for everyday citizens getting railroaded out of their homes? She’s quick with slogans but slow with real solutions.

This city doesn’t need media-hungry councilmen in handcuffs. It needs leaders who care more about real justice than social media likes. Maybe next time, before politicians start waving the deed theft flag, they should look in the mirror and ask who’s really failing New Yorkers. Is it the banks? The “evil” landlords? Or is it actually the leftist officials who can’t pick a side and stick to it?
