Something incredible just happened on national television, and it’s got liberals clutching their pearls: Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche pulled no punches, shutting down the tired argument for more gun control following the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner incident. Naturally, the media and their progressive talking heads immediately started screaming for more restrictions on law-abiding Americans. But Blanche wasn’t having any of it.
Every time there’s a high-profile incident—even at a glitzy D.C. gala stuffed with elites—Democrats leap straight to blaming the Second Amendment. Never mind facts. Never mind personal responsibility. For the left, every problem looks like a gun law waiting to happen. It’s pure, blatant political theater, designed to erode the rights of good citizens while criminals continue to ignore every rule on the books.
Blanche made it crystal clear: punishing millions of responsible Americans for the actions of a few is not only unfair, it’s downright un-American. The left never talks about getting tough on violent criminals or addressing mental health. Instead, they want to strip away freedoms from the people who actually follow the law. It’s as if their endgame is to make sure only the bad guys are ever armed.
Let’s not kid ourselves—there’s no evidence these “more restrictive” gun laws would have stopped anything at the WHCD. Liberals love to pass laws just to pat themselves on the back, ignoring the fact that criminals don’t care about their feel-good legislation. If the swamp in Washington actually cared about safety, they’d enforce the laws we already have and start holding people accountable. But that would require real leadership and backbone—two things in short supply on the left.
At the end of the day, the real threat isn’t the law-abiding gun owner. It’s the politicians and activists who keep trying to gut the Bill of Rights to score cheap political points. Americans see through this charade. The question is, how much longer will we let the anti-gun mob use every crisis to chip away at our freedoms?
