California’s First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom loves to paint herself as a champion for women. She’s always ready to lecture the rest of us on how women should be treated in the public eye, especially when it’s a convenient way to take a jab at President Trump. But when it comes to the dirt on her own political cronies, her so-called “advocacy” goes missing—fast.
Let’s be honest. Jennifer jumped at the chance to shame Trump after he criticized Norah O’Donnell’s pathetic attempt at journalism during his latest 60 Minutes interview. Funny how she managed to find her voice the second Trump pushed back at a reporter who clearly had an axe to grind, a day after yet another attempt on his life. But when it came time to stand up against (alleged) serial predator Eric Swalwell, we heard nothing but crickets from California’s “first” lady. Isn’t that odd? Or maybe it’s just plain hypocrisy.
Here’s the thing liberals never want to admit: their outrage is always selective. They care about “believing women” when it’s politically useful, but if the accused has a “D” by their name, suddenly it’s all hush-hush. Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s silence on Swalwell’s alleged predatory behavior shows exactly how empty her feminist posturing really is. Where are all the Hollywood speeches and slick videos about respecting women now? Guess they get shelved when the accused is in their own camp.
This isn’t even about defending Trump’s every word—it’s about pointing out how the left twists every moment to make themselves look righteous while protecting their own. President Trump has survived three attempts on his life and still gets grilled like he’s the villain. Meanwhile, Democrats like Swalwell get a free pass on serious accusations. This is the standard playbook of the liberal elite: rules for thee, but never for me.
Maybe Jennifer Siebel Newsom should stop lecturing the rest of us about respect and decency until she starts holding her own side accountable. Until then, her words ring hollow. Isn’t it time Californians—and Americans—see through this double standard? The real question is: if Democrats only speak up when it suits them, what exactly are they hiding?
