Once again, the so-called “elites” in Washington proved they care more about clinking champagne glasses and posing for cameras than actually protecting the people in the room—or the American system. Over the weekend, a crazed would-be assassin nearly got through their lazy security to take out President Trump and top officials. If you trust these people to run the country, you’d better think again. They can’t even run a hotel ballroom.
This wasn’t some random guy wandering in off the street. He had traveled across the country on a mission, left behind a manifesto, and admitted to police that he intended to slaughter top Trump officials and the president himself. He was even staying right there at the hotel! Yet somehow, the powerful “security apparatus” that’s supposed to defend the most important people in the world simply waved folks through the doors and hardly looked up. Hand a stranger a ticket—real or fake—and you’d almost certainly get the same limp-wristed welcome.
Here’s the undeniable truth: the “security” at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a total joke. Reporters could walk right in with barely a glance. No ID checks. No pat downs. No metal detectors, except for the last checkpoint before the main dinner. For most of the night, anyone with a grudge—or worse—could have slipped inside with a weapon, an explosive, or who knows what. Only at the very last second was there anything resembling actual protection. That isn’t good enough. And liberals want us to trust these same people with our borders, our schools, and our futures?
Don’t be fooled—when it comes to their precious globalist gatherings and cocktail parties, leftists love to feel important, but they can’t even handle the basics of security at their own events. Is it because they’re arrogant? Lazy? Or do they just think nothing bad can happen on their watch? This is what happens when America is run by self-obsessed bureaucrats and media hacks. They care more about photo ops than actually working for the American people.
Luckily, this disaster was stopped by quick police work. Maybe now that their own necks were on the line, these “leaders” might finally take safety seriously. Or maybe next time, their luck runs out. For a nation built on law, order, and common sense, we deserve better than this embarrassing display of incompetence. Who’s really keeping us safe? It’s certainly not the liberals in D.C.
