Republican Rep. Brandon Gill just did what so many weak-kneed politicians refuse to do—he faced the pro-abortion mob head-on and refused to let them hide behind their favorite buzzwords. During a recent congressional hearing, Gill forced an abortion activist to step out from behind the tired old “reproductive healthcare” excuse and confront the brutal reality of what abortion really is. Not surprisingly, the activist wanted none of it. Instead of giving a straight answer about the actual procedures she champions, she dodged questions and tried desperately to shift the conversation away from inconvenient truths.
This is exactly why America is so sick of the left’s language games. If these abortion cheerleaders are so proud of their cause, why do they run for cover the second someone asks them to explain what they actually support? Gill’s pointed questions exposed the ugly underbelly of the abortion industry. Everyone in that hearing room knew it. It’s easy to shout slogans and wave signs, but it’s something else entirely to look the public in the eye and explain how these “healthcare decisions” end innocent lives in gruesome ways.
Of course, the Democrats couldn’t handle the heat. One progressive lawmaker, who’s better known for his weird selfies than for any actual leadership, turned to name-calling, calling Gill “creepy” just for asking abortion supporters what their go-to method was. Somehow, the left thinks it’s totally normal for clinics to perform abortions at all stages of pregnancy, but it’s “creepy” to force them to talk about it in public. Maybe it’s only “creepy” when the mask slips and the radical left is confronted with the horror they’re enabling.
Gill’s performance should be the new standard for Republicans. Stop apologizing, stop dancing around the issue, and start making the other side answer for their extremist positions. The abortion lobby has been allowed to control the narrative for decades. Whenever anyone interrupts their prepackaged talking points, the whole charade falls apart. The American people deserve honesty—and they deserve leaders who won’t be bullied by woke activists and the media elite.
So here’s the question the abortion lobby never wants to answer: If the procedures they support are so defensible, why are they so afraid to talk about them? Maybe the real discomfort isn’t with the question—it’s with the ugly truth they’re forced to defend.
