When even Democrat TV personalities are forced to admit Donald Trump is right, you know the left has truly lost the argument. That’s exactly what happened when ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith—who rarely has anything kind to say about conservatives—conceded that Trump’s call for a White House ballroom makes a lot of sense. In the wake of a terrifying incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where a gunman tried to breach security and a Secret Service agent actually took a bullet to the vest, it’s stunning that liberals still pretend hosting major government events in random D.C. hotels is just fine.
Let’s be honest: if American taxpayers can fund billions in foreign aid and pet globalist projects, there’s absolutely no reason they can’t shell out for a secure, purpose-built ballroom right on White House grounds. Are we supposed to believe that elite politicians and media bigwigs deserve lavish parties, but not reliable protection? Democrats shriek about “security” and “threats to democracy” every time Trump speaks, but roll their eyes when he actually tries to keep people safe. The double standard is so thick you could cut it with a butter knife.
“I was there,” said Smith, and even he had to admit the obvious: being forced to duck under tables in fear for your life while the Secret Service does damage control isn’t anyone’s idea of a proper event. Thousands of powerful people, supposedly the best and brightest, were one crazed individual away from disaster. If that’s not enough to wake up liberal planners, what is? Or is it just easier to complain about Trump’s “tone” than fix real problems?
Here’s the truth: the Washington Hilton (or any hotel in D.C., for that matter) is not the White House. Anyone with common sense knows the President and top officials deserve true security, not a rushed perimeter check and a prayer. But, of course, the left would rather virtue signal about gun laws and pat themselves on the back for their own coverage than admit Trump had a good idea. If only they cared half as much about actual safety as they do about headline-grabbing nonsense and never-ending panels blaming conservatives for all evil in the world.
If liberals can’t see the need for a secure White House ballroom—even after a near-tragedy on their own home turf—maybe it’s time to stop listening to their “expert” advice altogether. If Donald Trump is right, then Donald Trump is right. Is that so hard to say, or is admitting the truth just too much for “progressives” to stomach?
